Hearing Continued For Warminster Mom Charged In DUI Death Of Son

The preliminary hearing for a Warminster mom charged in a fatal DUI crash that killed her son has been continued until June 5.

The preliminary hearing for a Warminster mom charged in a fatal DUI crash that killed her son has been continued until next month.

Authorities say Kelly Colbridge, 37, was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when she crashed her car last month, killing her 8-year-old son. Colbridge's hearing, scheduled for Thursday, May 10, has been continued until June 5, court records show.

Authorities say Colbridge was driving with a BAC at more than twice the legal limit on April 7 when she lost control of her Dodge Avenger, crashing head-on into another car. Her son, who was riding in the back seat at the time, later died from head and neck injuries sustained in the crash.

According to police, the pair was driving home from a party at the popular Bowlero spot, where Colbridge told investigators she had a "few drinks." Colbridge told investigators the last thing she remembers is talking on the phone in a hands-free mode. The next thing she recalls, according to an affidavit of probable cause, is being pulled from the wreckage.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. along the 300 block of Street Road, in the area of Davisville Church. Authorities say Colbridge crashed head-on into oncoming traffic. The boy, identified as Daniel Klaus, was found unconscious at the scene. He was flown to CHOP following the crash and succumbed to his injuries on April 10, police said.
