WEST CHESTER, PA — A manhunt is underway for two brothers charged in the murder of a 26-year-old in West Chester on Tuesday night, the Chester County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday afternoon.
Tyrell Jacobs, 23, and Tim Jacobs, 24, who are half-brothers, are known to law enforcement previously and are believed to frequent the West Chester area.
The incident occurred on April 10 at around 9 p.m. at the Star Social Club, located on 212 East Market Street, authorities said.

The victim, Eric Brown, 26, had been playing basketball nearby, and was still carrying the basketball when he walked into the club.
According to the DA, the Jacobs brothers began arguing with Brown, and tried to "lure him into an altercation." It's not yet clear if the brothers knew Brown from before, nor what the altercation was about.

Eventually, Tyrell Jacobs threw a punch at Brown, who did not respond to the assault, the DA said. Other patrons of the club intervened, and tried to get Brown to leave, but he would not go.
Security footage shows the verbal altercation continue for several more minutes, before Tyrell Jacobs punches Brown again. After the second punch, Brown came at him, and the three began fighting. The brothers then chased Brown into a small room in the back of the club, both of them carrying firearms, where Brown had trapped himself. That's when Tyrell Jacobs shot Brown in the chest, the DA said.

The brothers are being actively sought by authorities.
