1.34-Mill Tax Hike Proposed For Yardley In 2023 Preliminary Budget
The Yardley Borough Council will meet Tuesday night to consider adopting the preliminary budget with a public inspection from Nov. 14-25.

YARDLEY, PA —Residents may pay more in taxes next year under a budget that is expected to be introduced at Tuesday night's Borough Council meeting.
On the agenda is a 2023 budget presentation that asks council to consider adopting the 2023 preliminary budget and to advertise it for public inspection between Nov. 14-25.
The council also will consider advertising a 2023 Tax Levy Ordinance with a proposed tax increase of 1.34 mills.

At the council's last meeting, Councilman Matt Curtin stated that the borough was facing a $68,000 deficit due to a wave of upcoming projects next year and a potential 2-mill increase if the budget committee and council members couldn't find ways to reduce the amount.
Those projects Curtin was referring to are in regards to Phases Two and Three of the North Main Street sidewalks project and rebuilding the Mary Yardley Bridge.

Borough officials said they hoped to have the 2023 budget approved by Dec. 6.
