$1,400 In Retail Thefts At ShopRite, Kohl's Top Lower Makefield Crimes
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Retail thefts and attempted vehicle thefts topped the criminal incidents over the past week that the Lower Makefield Township Police Department released in its blotter.

RETAIL THEFTS:
- 1600 block of Big Oak Road, at Kohl’s, reported at 1:57 p.m. Police responded to a retail theft in a retail theft by three individuals. Police located one suspect in the wooded area across from Kohl’s. The 23-year-old Newark, N.J. woman was taken into police custody for taking $503.50 worth of merchandise without paying. She was arraigned by District Justice Kronnagel and released.
- 1600 block of Big Oak Road, at Shop Rite, reported at 5:01 p.m. Police responded to the report of a retail theft in progress. Two previous retail thefts were committed by this person on May 14 and May 22. The 63-year-old Philadelphia woman was taken into police custody for taking $250.07 worth of merchandise without paying. A total of $708.01 was taken during all three thefts. She was arraigned by District Justice Baranoski and released on $2,500 unsecured bail.

FLEEING/ELUDING ARREST —900 block of Stony Hill Rd. at Shady Brook Farm, reported at 3:49 a.m. The complainant reported the attempted theft of a motor vehicle in progress by a subject in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee. Officers attempted to conduct a felony car stop, however, the vehicle fled. A pursuit was initiated but terminated shortly after when the vehicle entered I-295 in the wrong direction. Officers were later able to locate the vehicle on the 2200 block of Yardley Road. A juvenile male admitted to being the driver. He was taken into custody.
FRAUD —Unit block of Lavender Drive, reported at 12:20 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) intercepted a mailed check, altered it, and attempted to cash it.
ATTEMPTED MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS:
- 600 block of Palmer Lane, reported at 11:16 a.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) smashed their rear driver’s side window and tampered with the ignition.
- 600 block of Palmer Lane, reported at 1:47 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) smashed their rear driver’s side window and damaged the ignition.
RETAIL THEFT —900 block of Vasant Drive, at Wegmans, reported at 4:37 p.m. Loss Prevention reported two unknown men entered the store and removed $180.56 worth of merchandise without paying. When confronted, they dropped the merchandise and fled on foot.

DUI ARREST —Big Oak Road and Knightsbridge Drive, reported at 1:05 a.m. Police on patrol
observed a disabled vehicle on the side of the road. Further investigation led to the arrest
of the 28-year-old Lower Makefield Township man for Driving Under the Influence.
