Why are you seeking elective office?
I am running for office because I have a deep belief in the importance of service, stewardship, and a desire to do my part to build the community I want to live in â one that rises above national bipartisan arguments and strives to do what is right for everyone in our district.
The single most pressing issue facing our district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Our top issue is the need to create a safe, secure, and stable environment where students can learn and thrive. To address this need, I will start by ensuring we are listening to the needs of all our students, staff, and teachers, whatever their zip code. From this informed viewpoint, I will champion the common good in the distribution of our resources across our students, our educators, and our schools while leveraging all available resources to minimize the burden on our community.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
As a former professor and freshman advisor at a Big 10 university, I have first-hand experience in seeing what happens when students are pushed to pursue an education and career path that does not suit them or their personal desires. I worked summers in construction when I was an undergraduate and I am an advocate for the validity of this valuable career path. I also spent a phase of my career working for various international corporations where I developed project management skills. I will bring this wealth of knowledge to the job at hand to benefit the Pennsbury community.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
My top three objectives are to 1. create a safe, secure, and stable environment where students can learn and thrive, 2. ensure that Pennsburyâs programs have the flexibility to serve the unique goals of every student, and 3. champion the common good in the distribution of our resources across our students, our educators, and our schools.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Achieving tenure at a Big 10 university, becoming Project Management Professional certified, and success as an elected leader in the Institute of Food Technologists (the largest professional food organization in the world).
The best advice ever shared with me was:
Do not let fear dictate your actions.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
If elected, my intention is to serve all the members of the Pennsbury community, regardless of zip code or political affiliation.
