On Thanksgiving Eve, police in Bucks County will be conducting roving DUI patrols along Street Road from Warrington Township to Bensalem Township.
The DUI patrol will cover a 16-mile stretch and is scheduled from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23. Officers trained in standard field-sobriety testing and checkpoints will be working the patrols.
The Wednesday night before Thanksgiving is a cultural phenomenon called “Thanksgiving Eve,” an evening associated with drinking and a big night for bars.
Yardley police urge residents to celebrate "Thanksgiving at home; not at our Station."
Police requested that anyone planning to celebrate do so responsibly. That means designating a driver, planning a ride, reserving a taxi or using one of the many new available low-cost transportation services before heading out to a bar or a party.
