Earth Day Cleanup Planned For Lake Afton

YARDLEY, PA —Friends of Lake Afton will hold its annual cleanup day Saturday for Earth Day.

The Lake Afton Clean-Up Day takes place from 8 a.m. to noon, organizers said.

"Help us celebrate Earth Day by volunteering to help spruce up Lake Afton, Yardley's town jewel, for the spring and summer months," a Facebook post said.

Friends of Lake Afton are asking attendees to feel free to bring light gardening or landscaping tools.

Lake Afton is next to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

• Experience Yardley recently unveiled its ducks. There are six ducks designed by artists that are featured around the borough.
• The Yardley Historical Association will take a walk down memory lane with a tour of the Delaware Canal towpath and South Canal Street on April 27.
• Borough resident Jason Feyko was recently honored as Yardley-Makefield Fire Company Firefighter of the Year.
• Gather Place will hold a program to honor the work of poet Langston Hughes Saturday.
