The northbound Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge reopened Thursday morning following its closure for a fatal crash, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission said.

The emergency closure of the Route 1 bridge had caused traffic gridlock around roads and highways in Lower Bucks County, including delays for school buses in the Pennsbury School District.
The DRJTBC said that the northbound bridge reopened just after 10 a.m.

Bridge officials said a pedestrian was walking illegally and was struck in the northbound lanes around 6:15 a.m. The toll bridge does not have a walkway.
The bridge was closed in the New Jersey-bound direction (northbound Route 1) due to the fatal accident, the commission said.
Trucks were advised to take Interstate 295 East and use the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge to cross into New Jersey.
Route 1 north passenger vehicles approaching Trenton from Pennsylvania were advised to use Scudder Falls because of backups and delays at smaller two-lane Lower Trenton and Calhoun Street bridges.
State Police are investigating the accident.
