LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Fall is here and the cool, dark mornings are arriving as the calendar turns to October.

Yardley Photographer Josh Friedman enjoys this time of the year, with the colorful foliage and the cool autumn mornings.

But those mornings often lead to fog, which can transform our familiar surroundings, Friedman said.

He captured that feeling with this snapshot in the fall of 2015.

He was walking the path of the Five Mile Woods nature preserve.

"The ground was covered with colorful fallen leaves, and the trees disappeared into a thick early morning fog, which gave mysterious beauty to the setting," he said. "I look forward to seeing what this autumn brings, and I'm sure that I'll take more photos in this beautiful preserve."
