YARDLEY, PA —The Delaware Canal is the perfect place to capture picturesque scenes.

Photographer Josh Friedman often finds himself strolling along the canal in Yardley, seeking that snapshot.

What he came across early last Sunday morning was something a little out of the ordinary.

But it made a feature for this snapshot of the week.

"I intended to take some landscape photos along the Delaware Canal," Friedman said. "This beautiful heron caught my eye, and we had a private photo shoot for about a half hour. Once or twice he flew about a hundred yards, and I followed him. Then, I moved (intending to take some landscape shots) away, and he followed me."

Friedman took the snapshot on the towpath, just south of the little bridge on Mt. Eyre Road that crosses the canal.
