Snapshot: Lake Afton Snow Melts Thoughts Of Heat

Editor's Note —This is a weekly photograph series.

YARDLEY, PA —It's been a summer of excessive heat.

But with August arriving next week, when you think about it, winter is right around the corner.

Yardley Photographer Josh Friedman wanted to give a reminder to readers and dusted off a photo he snapped in February 2021.

He's showing Lake Afton, the historic "Old Library," and the St. Andrew's Church.

"I took this during a morning snowstorm in February 2021," Friedman said. "With one hand, I manipulated my camera, which was on a tripod, and with the other hand, I held an umbrella, to make sure no snowflakes landed on my lens. The snow-covered frozen section of the pond created a beautiful leading line into the peaceful scene. I converted my original image into black and white."
