Time Change For Taylorsville Rd. Ramp Closure To I-295
The ramp and rest area will be closed through July for work on the new Scudder Falls Bridge in Lower Makefield.
LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA — The six-week closure of the Taylorsville Road ramp onto Interstate 295 is set to begin shortly after 4 a.m. on Wednesday.
The west ramp, along with the I-295 West rest area in Lower Makefield, will be closed through early July for planned work on the Scudder Falls Bridge replacement project. PennDOT announced the planned time of the closure on Tuesday.
If all goes according to plan, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission said, the rebuilt ramp will open to traffic shortly after July 4.

The closure will allow work crews to grade and pave along part of I-295 that has been cordoned off since August, when the traffic shift went into effect.
While the ramp is closed, there will be a detour via the Scudder Falls Bridge and the Scotch Road interchange (Exit 73A) in New Jersey.

Here's a look at the detour:
- Take the on-ramp for I-295 South and cross the Scudder Falls Bridge into New Jersey.
- Proceed on I-295 South past the first two exits at Rt. 29 and CR-579/Bear Tavern Road.
- Follow I-295 to Scotch Road North (Exit 73A) and use the loop ramps to cross over I-295.
Motorists are, of course, being advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area.
