Yardley Inn Clears The Air On Renovations
The landmark borough eatery will be closed for a year. But the renovations won't begin until 2025 at the earliest.

YARDLEY, PA —Customers have no fear, the Yardley Inn is still here.
The borough landmark will be renovated, expanded, and elevated five feet after the Yardley Borough Council unanimously approved plans for preliminary/final land development in late May.
And while those renovations will close the restaurant —which sits on 3.32 acres and overlooks the Delaware River —for a year, they're not happening until 2025.

Yardley Inn took to Facebook over the weekend to clear the air.
"Dear loyal Yardley Inn customers: We would like to address your concerns. Many of you have been asking questions about our renovations regarding a recently published article. Rest assured, we are OPEN and will continue to serve you with excellence. Renovations aren't scheduled to begin until 2025 at the earliest, so you can enjoy our exceptional service and cuisine without disruption. Thank you for your continued support."
Representatives called the renovations a "multi-million dollar" expansion anticipated to cost about $5 million.

The approval comes five years after renovations at the Yardley Inn on 82 E. Afton Ave. —which opened in 1979 —were first proposed.
Renovations include moving the inn farther into the parking lot and moving it back on a new foundation at a higher elevation. There will also be a second-floor deck added to accommodate 35 to 50 people for outdoor dining, a lift from ground level up to the first floor, and an elevator from the first to the second floor, representatives said.
The square footage of the restaurant would increase from 5,000 square feet to 8,700 square feet. A sidewalk will be built along East Afton Avenue as well. Seating will increase slightly to 300.
