The focus of a criminal probe into a TikTok video depicting a "sexualized conversation" between a Massachusetts school employee and a supposed 15-year-old was found dead in Rhode Island, police said.
The Rhode Island State Police notified the Plympton Police Department on Tuesday that the Silver Lake Regional School District employee was dead, according to a joint media release from Plympton Police Chief Matthew Ahl and Kingston, Massachusetts, Police Chief Brian Holmes.

Kingston police launched the criminal investigation Thursday after they were "notified of a concerning TikTok social media video appearing to depict an adult male, who was employed by Silver Lake Regional School District at the time, engaging in a sexualized conversation with someone posing as a 15-year-old female," the release said.

Kingston police determined the school employee lived in Plympton and passed the case on to that department, "as it appeared the video in question was taken at his residence," according to the release.
"Additional information gathered, including an over 1-hour uncut version of the video, culminated in the decision to pursue arrest and search warrants at the courthouse (Tuesday)relative to the case," the release said.

"Before being able to get those warrants authorized, the Plympton Police Department was notified by the Rhode Island State Police early (Tuesday) morning that the alleged suspect was found deceased," according to the release. "The State of Rhode Island retains jurisdiction on the death investigation but currently no foul play is suspected."
Police in Massachusetts are continuing the investigation to determine if there are additional victims, according to the release.
