Rhode Island Department Of Environmental Management Offering Hands-On Programs
One of the upcoming programs is titled "Bat Mythbusters."
The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management is offering hands-on programs, including one titled, "Bat Mythbusters."
"Get outdoors, try something new, and build skills along the way! There’s something for everyone; from fly fishing and hunter education classes to bats and bears 101," the department said in a media release.
The programs start with "Bear Necessities" Sept. 10.

"Although Black bear sightings in Rhode Island continue to increase, coexistence is possible when you are Bear Aware,' the release said.
The department is offering a number of hunter education programs in September and October as well, including a Bowhunter Education Course and an Intro to Deer Hunting Workshop.

"Bat Mythbusters" is scheduled for Oct. 22.
"With Halloween around the corner, bust some bat myths with (the Division of Fish and Wildlife)!" the release said. "Sit back, relax, and learn about Rhode Island's unique bat species and the conservation work being done to help these misunderstood mammals."
