Texas Fugitive Arrested On Cruise Ship In Newport: Cops
The Texan was wanted aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
NEWPORT, RI — A wanted Texan was arrested on a cruise ship in Newport, police said.
Christian Smith, 26, was arrested about 10 a.m. Friday to the cruise ship moored at Fort Adams State Park, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.
Smith was a fugitive from justice wanted on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Denton County Texas, the release said.

Troopers boarded a cruise ship and arrested Smith, according to the release.
Smith, a resident of Justin, was processed at the Wickford Barracks, arraigned and taken to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men's Intake Center, the release said.
