In the Gallery: Spring Memories - Opening Reception

This group of oil paintings by Denise Zompa features scenes of Blithewold during Daffodil Days, flowers and other spring themes.

Born and raised in Bristol, Denise as been a member and frequent visitor at Blithewold for many years. Now living on Cape Cod, Blithewold is often her first stop after crossing the Mt. Hope Bridge to visit family and friends.

During her 30 year career as an art educator for Bristol Warren Regional Schools, Denise brought many third grade classes on field trips to learn the history of Blithewold and paint on the grounds. Since retiring, she has painted full time and shown in galleries in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Zompa moved to the cape in 2018 from Tiverton, RI where she had a studio and enjoyed participating in the South Coast Studio Tours for fifteen years. Denise has exhibited in juried shows throughout New England, receiving awards in local and national shows.
