En Plein Air: A Watercolor Painting Class at Blithewold
Working outdoors, enjoying the camaraderie of other painters, is a rare pleasure; one you will want to continue long after class is over!
In this class, designed for the beginning or intermediate watercolor artist, you will experience how easy and joyful it can be to sketch and paint en plein air (“in the open air”) amidst Blithewold’s glorious gardens and grounds. We’ll discuss locations that lend themselves to spontaneous painting adventures; explore planning and sketching materials and techniques; practice mixing colors for our palette; and learn to work on wet and dry paper, all ending in the creation of several finished paintings, ready to frame.
