• Community 2000 marks 25 years, raises student scholarships to $2,500 (thewesterlysun.com) — Community 2000 is boosting its scholarships to $2,500 and funding new grants that directly support Charlestown Elementary School's therapy dog and student wellness. Charlestown and other Chariho-area students can apply for a wide range of need-based and career-focused awards, while local teachers receive grants for theater, STEM, and culture-building programs. A comedy fundraiser in October will help sustain these opportunities.
   

• Ways to Reconnect with Nature Across Rhode Island (providenceonline.com) — Several of the most inviting ways to unplug and get outside are right in Charlestown, from cabin camping at Burlingame State Campground to outdoor yoga at Rockbriar Farm and animal encounters at the Fantastic Umbrella Factory.     I hope everyone has been able to enjoy the summer. I don't want to be a "Crumb Bum" but I'd just like to ask a favor of those with children that… (Nextdoor Carolina Back - S County)
