Health & Fitness

Blog 1: Philosophy and Approach

A few of my philosophies when it comes to fitness.

This is my first post and here I am going to share with you a few of my philosophies when it comes to fitness. These are different things that I have learned and picked up from friends, co-workers, the web, and from people I’ve met in the gym.

1. Never sacrifice form for weight.
This is a crucial building block to anyone who wants to get stronger, bigger, or leaner. Always practice proper form in all of your exercises. Example: While doing any types of arm exercises standing up your back should not be bending. If you’re working your arms, use your arms. If you’re struggling to keep form then you should drop down the weight to keep from hurting yourself.

2. Grip strength is important.
Having a strong grip is very important. A friend once asked me: “How can you lift weights when you can’t even pick them up?” It makes a lot of sense.

There will be more strong points associated with each discussion topic but for now I leave with these thoughts.
Health and fitness comes from a lifestyle. There are infinite diets to loose quick pounds but as soon as you stop the weight comes back. It is a lifestyle of bettering yourself. Don’t play the blame game either, the only one who has control over you is you. A healthy body builds and healthy mind. From there out they will continue to support and balance each other.
