Big Papi Burrito Unveiled By Cranston Restaurant For National Burrito Day

The former Red Sox slugger said he was "pumped."

CRANSTON, RI — Anna’s Taqueria in Cranston is unveiling the Big Papi Burrito for National Burrito Day next week.

The Big Papi Burrito will make its debut April 2 at Anna’s Taqueria's dozen locations in Massachusetts as well.

"I’m pumped to team up with Anna’s Taqueria to bring my creation to my friends in Boston and beyond,” Ortiz said in a media release.

“Anna’s is a big part of our local flavor, and I know we’ll hit it out of the park with this drop,” the Hall-of-Famer said.

"The super-sized Big Papi Burrito is inspired by Ortiz’s Dominican roots with chipotle-smothered steak, cheese, Mexican rice, sweet peppers, fajita veggies, sliced avocado, queso fresco, pinto beans, cilantro and onions that is all wrapped into a warm 12-inch flour tortilla," the release said.

Anna’s Taqueria will donate $1 from each burrito sold to the David Ortiz Children’s Fund, a charity dedicated to providing heart surgeries and care to children in the U.S. and the Dominican Republic.
