Cranston Man Charged With Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses: Cops (patch.com) — Cranston residents may want to know that a 46-year-old local man, Christopher Paquin, has been charged with obtaining money under false pretenses following a State Police Auto Theft Task Force investigation. Paquin surrendered at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, was given $1,000 surety bail in Third Division District Court, and was also presented as a Superior Court probation violator.
   

2. 'Live Like Russ': Golf tournament honors legacy of ACI officer who died from COVID-19 (wpri.com) — Cranston's own Cranston Country Club recently hosted more than 140 golfers honoring Lt. Russell "Russ" Freeman, an ACI officer who died from COVID-19. The annual Live Like Russ tournament raises money for a foundation that has already awarded over $40,000 in scholarships to high school graduates. His family hopes locals will keep his memory alive by supporting the foundation and living with his same generosity.
   

3. Three charged in separate incidents at ACI in Cranston (newportdispatch.com) — Three men were recently charged at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston after separate investigations into drug possession and violations of domestic no-contact orders. All three were arraigned in Third District Court, with two held as superior court violators and one remanded to finish an existing felony assault sentence. Cranston residents may notice increased attention on security and supervision at the local prison complex.

The same report details separate arrests of men from Central Falls and Coventry on serious sexual assault and child pornography charges.
