RI Gov., Congressional Primary Debates Continue: When And How To Watch

PROVIDENCE, RI — Primary election season is fast approaching in Rhode Island, and there are major decisions voters are going to have to make.

Most notably among of those is, of course, the race for governor, which features five Democrats and three Republicans vying to lead the state. Gov. Dan McKee took over for Gina Raimondo when she was appointed as U.S. Commerce Secretary.

So now, McKee, Helena Buonanno Foulkes, Matthew A. Brown, Nellie M. Gorbea and Luis Daniel Munoz are competing in a tight primary. The Republicans are: David Darlington, Ashley Kalus and Jonathan Riccitelli.

The candidates have been making the rounds at forums and debates in the lead-up to the Sept. 13 primary, and there's another debate on the calendar for the Democrats. The debate is scheduled for 6 p.m., Sept. 6 and will be broadcasted and livestreamed by WPRI 12.

Another debate on the horizon is the Democratic primary debate for Rhode Island's 2nd Congressional District. It's scheduled for 8 p.m. on WPRI 12. With Rep. James Langevin not seeking re-election, six Democrats are battling it out in the primary: Seth Magaziner, David Segal, Omar Bah, Sarah Morgenthau, Joy Fox and Spencer Dickinson. On the Republican side, former Cranston Mayor Allan Fung faces no primary challenger.
