RI Man Caught With 666K Meth-Laced Pills Gets 10-Year Sentence

Federal prosecutors said this was the largest known drug seizure of its kind in U.S. history, with the meth pills weighing 660 pounds.

CUMBERLAND, RI — A Rhode Island man was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in federal prison after being caught with nearly 666,000 methamphetamine-laced counterfeit Adderall pills.

Federal prosecutors said this was the largest known drug seizure of its kind in U.S. history, with the meth pills weighing 660 pounds.

Dylan Rodas, 27, of Cumberland, pleaded guilty in September 2022 to possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. Rodas has been detained since his arrest on March 28, 2022.

Along with the 665,728 meth-laced pills, prosecutors said they also found 11 kilograms of methamphetamine powder, 1,000 fake Oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl, two motorized pill presses, 250 grams of cocaine, $15,000 in cash and seven handguns, two of which were ghost guns.

At the time of his arrest, prosecutors said Rodas immediately provided DEA agents with information about his drug trafficking activities, including the location where he packaged and stored narcotics and that he was in possession of several guns, ammunition and other illegal substances.
