The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 7.
PROVIDENCE, RI — In honor of National Veterans Small Business Week, Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea's office is sponsoring a small business fair for Rhode Island veterans. The event aims to connect veterans with resources to help them start or support an already existing small business.
The fair will be held at 148 West River St. in Providence from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Event partners include the Rhode Island Department of State, U.S. Small Business Administration and RI Office of Veterans Affairs.
The event has personal importance to the secretary, whose father, grandfather and brother are all veterans.

"Our Veterans Small Business Fair supports those who have served our country by making it easier for them to do business in Rhode Island," Gorbea said. "As a member of a blue star family, it’s deeply important to me that we do everything we can to support our veterans."
There are more than 850 veteran-owned businesses in Rhode Island that are currently registered with Gorbea's office. The fair hopes to give business owners, and those who want to start a business, an opportunity to connect with other entrepreneurs, share their products and find the tools and resources they need to succeed.
