Streets are Flooding in Cranston; Flood Warning Issued

Heavy rains have flooded many roads in Cranston, including the typical trouble spots.

Heavy downpours have flooded numerous streets in Cranston on this soggy Fatherโ€™s Day afternoon.

Reports of cars stuck in deep water began rolling in at around 11 a.m. after a particularly fierce band of rain was unloaded on the city.

And as expected, a car became stranded under the railroad bridge at the intersection of Wilbur and Oaklawn Avenues, which seems to happen every time there is significant rainfall in a short period of time. That particular stretch of road is extremely prone to flooding.

โ€œFlooding is powerful. Only a few inches of rapidly flowing water can quickly carry away your vehicle,โ€ the weather service said.
