Tick-tock. Time is running out to firm up plans for the kids' February winter vacation, which is why we're leading off today's list with two local options for camps and activities:

1. The Middletown Public Schools Department has extended its deadline for parents to register their children for the February Vacation Enrichment Program to Monday, Feb.7. Click here for more information.

If you're concerned about the town budget and taxes, mark this on your calendar: The Town of Middletown will hold an "Open House" from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8 for the public to visit every municipal facility and meet with all department heads, ask questions, and make suggestions for the town's bottom line.
