After 25 years as a beloved local spot, the revived eatery is shutting its dining room while encouraging customers to stay connected for catered parties and events. • Newport School Committee Freezes Non-Essential Spending (upriseri.com) — Newport's School Committee has frozen all non-essential spending and set six goals for its superintendent, moves that could shape future collaboration with Middletown's schools as leaders plan to meet in coming weeks. The committee also accepted a $5,000 donation to tackle absenteeism at Thompson Middle School and flagged rising home instruction numbers and a new private middle school drawing local students.
