• Middletown Panel Backs $69,867 Restroom Design Fee (upriseri.com) — Middletown's Building Committee has endorsed a $69,867 design fee to add five single-occupant restrooms at Forest Avenue Elementary School, a change prompted by state education requirements for pre-K spaces. The project fits within the existing $8.3 million school budget and overall bond funding, and now heads to the School Committee and Town Council for approval in meetings over the next two days.

Past funding has gone to the Town of Middletown and other local institutions.
   

• Friday's soccer, field hockey, tennis and volleyball scores in RI (newportri.com) — Middletown High athletes were in the mix Friday, with girls tennis beating Mt. Hope 5-2 and the volleyball team narrowly falling to Davies 3-2 in a five-set battle. The statewide roundup also highlights other Rhode Island high school scores and Saturday's schedule, giving local fans a quick snapshot of how teams across the state are performing.
