A 'BABE', BY Any Other Name Would Smell As Sweet!

   Yesterday, I FINALLY got to meet my Great-Nephew, Camden Michael Snyder; this, opportunity, 'topping-off' a fabulous, fun-filled weekend. When this, sleeping, child, was lain in my arms, looking every, bit, the angel he is, my eyes, actually, stung with tears. It's been a little, while, since I've held a newborn, and, each time I am blessed to do so, the miracle(s) of birth and life fill my heart. There is another thing, of which, I ALWAYS, take note, when in the company of a baby, this, being the 'fragrance' which emanates, sweet and pure, from, any new-human; This, 'smell', so, heady and intoxicating, that, I wish I could figure out a way to bottle it. Once upon a time, I knew a woman, a Mother, herself, who, when I expressed my desire to hold an infant, so that I could breathe in it's 'baby-smell', brusquely, exclaimed, 'Babies ONLY smell of puke and poop!' Boy...in that, moment, I kinda felt sorry for her, but, never said so. Contrarily, I, once, 'fell in love' with a man who told me, without provocation, how much he loved the 'smell of a baby'. Yes, it is true, that babies, as do we all, have body-functions, and, eliminate waste. However, they are 'clean and non-toxic' so, truly, nothing about them is offensive, at least, not to me. Actually, it was, more, 'offensive' to me, to hear this, 'woman from my past', declare so disdainfully, that, she though babies stank. To be frank and fair, I'll acquiesce to the reality, that, we're all different, and, we all perceive things in our, own, unique, way. I guess one person's 'perfume' is another, person's 'poopy-diaper'; And, basically, this, to me, kinda, 'says it all' about an individual...this, simple,' life-philosophy', predicated on one's perception of 'baby-bouquet'. Just Sayin'...
