Blessed, Be The 'Tie That Binds'...

     I cannot speak for, other, Moms, naturally, but, I believe that most of us are, probably, 'on the same page' when it comes to this sentiment; that, regardless, the age of our offspring, we STILL feel the 'umbilical cord' connection. This is not meant, in 'any way, shape, or, form', to undermine the relationship(s) of fathers and children; however, I know nothing of the bond(s) that exist within the parameters of those relationships. I AM a Mother, after all; and, in so being, feel, more, 'closely-knit' to my sons, than I do to ANY other human-being on the 'face of the earth'. This is, simply, a fact; Yet, there are moments when this, reality, comes 'crashing down' on me, and, wakens me to the, true, depth of what this, 'tie that binds' is. The 'bottom-line' is this: that when my sons hurt...I hurt. This 'phantom' cord, still, there, which, 'once upon a time', physically, connected me to these, human-beings, my children, which my body helped to create and supported for nine months, is, still, very, real. This is not unlike the cord that connects, us, all to Source; known as he 'silver cord' in metaphysical studies and literature, also known as the sutratma or life thread of the antahkarana, referring to a life-giving linkage from the higher self (atma) down to the physical body. It also refers to an extended synthesis of this thread and a second (the consciousness thread, passing from the soul to the physical body) that connects the physical body to the etheric body, onwards to the astral body and finally to the mental body. If we think about this, in the simplest of terms, it, means, only, that we are, perfectly, linked to our Higher-Power. Simply, because, it is not seen, by the naked eye, doesn't make it any, less, so. I love the idea that I am 'joined' together, to the Universe, by a bond that cannot be broken. In so much as I believe this TRUTH, I KNOW, as well, that the 'connection' between my sons, and, myself, actually exists, is not imaginary, fake, false, or artificial; Even, though, no longer a physical-tether, it is a chain that will, always, remain, unbroken, EXACTLY, like the link, based on LOVE, between us and God. Just Sayin'...
