Rhody Fresh has been honored by the Rhode Island House of Representatives!

Rhody Fresh has been honored by a proclamation from the Rhode Island House of Representatives.
On Tuesday, June 12, a resolution was introduced in the General Assembly by representatives Naughton, Walsh, Valencia, Gallison and Kennedy recognizing Rhody Fresh for its economic and agricultural contribution to the Rhode Island.
It wasn't that long ago in 2002 when the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s Division of Agriculture awarded the dairy farmers a $21,370 USDA Farm Viability grant. This helped a group of local farmers committed to saving Rhode Island dairy's farms to start Rhody Fresh.

In attendance at the state house were the five original farmers of the Rhode Island Dairy Farmers Cooperative: Barry James, Louie Escobar, Glen Cottrell, Melissa Breene and Scooter LaPrise, as well as Executive Director Jim Hines and Ken Ayars, the chief of the Division of Agriculture.
