Clean Water Advocate To Swim Bay From Point Judith To Providence
The 40-mile swim has never been done before, according to Christopher Swain.

NARRAGANSETT-SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI - From Swim With Swain: Christopher Swain will compete his 40-mile swim from Point Judith to Providence — an historic first — by stroking into Gardner Jackson Park in Providence, Rhode Island. Emerging from the Providence River in his wetsuit, he will: urge support for his “Three Ways to Love the Bay” plan—three simple steps anyone can take to protect and celebrate Narragansett Bay; call on the federal government to put Narragansett Bay in nomination as a United Nations World Heritage Site; and encourage citizens to enjoy and protect one of the most aesthetically and biologically-rich estuaries in the world.
WHEN: 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 8, 2018, World Oceans Day
WHERE: Under the Gazebo at Gardner Jackson Park in Providence, RI, directly across from 220 South Water Street. Parking: There is eight-hour metered parking on South Water Street. There is also a paid private parking lot across the street from the Gazebo.
