'Cleaning-Up' My Act...

    Today, I am cleaning out some 'cob-webs', so to speak; muddling through 'STUFF', and, attempting to organize. By admission, I am a bit of a hoarder, I know this about myself; 'to thine own self be true', after all. My desire to collect articles, and, artifacts, has lessened...a tad. Years ago, when presented with a pile of potential treasure; some discarded, possessions, sitting street-side, hoping for a new home, I would ALWAYS stop and peruse. So much so, that when my, then, young, sons, spotted the roadside 'ruin', and, knew my habit, would BEG me not to stop! 'We have ENOUGH cr*p, already!', they would remind me; trying to appeal to my saner-self; 'One person's junk...', right? Presently, my dilemma is in determining which of my desired 'debris' need go by the wayside. I don't collect so much, these days, as I have no room to put any, newly, acquired items; My challenge is in filtering through all that I have, and, actually, tossing it, as, I always, imagine that 'one day' I'll have a use for EVERYTHING I've ever brought together to my abode. Whenever this 'bug' to spruce-up, bites, I find myself, spending hours on end, pouring through boxes, looking at old pictures,(all, still, waiting to be placed in photo -albums) and, I have myself a great time, going back in time; laughter, tears, and, astonishment at time gone by, resulting...wonderfully cathartic, I must say. Anyway, so far, today, I've yet to rid my home of a thing. I have discovered a few funky-pieces, that are being newly, displayed, in my home, organizing a bit, in the process, this a good thing, too. Eventually, I'll figure out what I really need to hang on to, and, what ought go. In the meantime, I understand this much; when that 'urge to purge' hits me, once again, I know I'll enjoy picking through the pieces of my past, and my present. Just Sayin'...
