Do It For 'Sh**ts and GIGGLES'!

     'Laugh...and the world laughs with you. Weep...and, you weep all alone.' ~ Ella Wheeler Wilcox, 'Solitude' ~ The world, LOVES a clown, isn't it true? When people around us are smiling, giggling, laughing, and, otherwise, in jovial-spirit, there is a 'contagion' in this, uplifting-energy. The positive-flow of energy, which, these, 'Happy' feelings, elicit, cause us to 'feel' better. One would have to be, low, in the 'bogs of despair', to NOT be receptive, at least, to a degree, to the uplifting-nature of laughter. Humor is infectious. The sound of roaring laughter is far more contagious than any cough, sniffle, or sneeze. When laughter is shared, it binds people together and increases happiness and intimacy. Laughter also triggers healthy physical changes in the body. Humor and laughter strengthen our immune systems, boost our energy, diminish pain, and protect us from the damaging effects of stress. Best of all, this priceless medicine is fun, free, and easy to use. When we, ourselves, laugh, we are offering our bodies some of the most natural and 'best-medicine', that, is available to mankind. Wonderful, things, occur, within us, which, can assist in keeping us well. Hence, the impetus behind, 'Laughter-Yoga'; this, modality, predicated on the knowledge of health-benefits, related to laughter, and, the awareness, that, our laughter can be sincere, and, legitimate, based on witnessing something, that, has, 'tickled our funny-bone, or, we can 'force' our own laughter, 'exercising' the, very, same, 'modality', stimulating very, same, receptors, and, drawing-out the, very, SAME, positive-responses, for, our bodies recognize NO difference; laughter, legitimate, or contrived...it makes no, 'never-mind' to us; it is STILL, the 'Best-Medicine' on the market. To this end, it is vital to realize, that, as much 'good', as occurs to and for us, due to being in and around positive-energy, conversely, the same is true of negative-energy, and, the less than optimal results, which, are generated from this. Negative-energy, in the form of stress, anger, depression, etc., bring about totally, different reactions within our body-system; with, NONE of these, good. Each time we 'stress' ourselves, there exists a 'chemical-reaction' or response, within us, 'based' upon our, instinctive, 'fight or flight', reaction to 'danger. Again, at a rudimentary, primitive-level, our bodies recognize stress, in the SAME way, no matter the level of stimuli, and, a chemical-soup, is created within, with this, over time, leading to toxicity and 'trauma' to our ol' bods. Whether, we step off a curb and walk into an oncoming car, or, whether we, simply, feel, slightly-'stressed', due to anxiety, when 'stress' is experienced, long enough, over time, the body will 'pay the price'. Keeping ourselves in a more, optimistic, positive, 'frame of mind', is what it's 'all about'. Naturally, there exist times, for all of us, wherein, we will, undoubtedly, experience, emotions, of a 'negative'-sort. We all can get angry, anxious, disgruntled, and, 'stressed'; yet, there, are ways to counter-act the physiological impact from these, emotions, one, being, LAUGHTER! So...even, if you don't feel like it, once in awhile, especially, if you're 'blue', make yourself laugh, anyway, and, before you know it, you'll, actually, begin to feel better. Your body will 'thank you' for it. Just Sayin'...
