Doughboys from Westerly - Frank and Stephen Macomber
Remembering their Service During World War I

The mission of the Rhode Island World War One Centennial Commission (RIWW1CC) is to commemorate the service and sacrifice of the men and women from Rhode Island who served during World War I. This posting highlights the service of two brothers from Westerly, Washington County, Rhode Island: on left, Frank Northup Macomber; and on right, and Stephen Wesley Macomber. Their parents were: Joseph Herbert Macomber (1856-1944) and Cora Alice (nee Northup) Macomber (1865-1961).
Private First Class Frank Northup Macomber, ASN #1,668,024, of Company C, 301st Field Signal Battalion, 76th Division (National Army). Frank was born February 26, 1895, at Westerly, Washington County, Rhode Island.
Private First Class Stephen Wesley Macomber, ASN #1,687,152, of Headquarters Company, 77th Field Artillery, 4th Artillery Brigade, 4th Division (Regular Army). Stephen was born on November 15, 1889, at Westerly, Washington County, Rhode Island.

Both brothers served overseas with the American Expeditionary Force. Both survived the war and returned home to Westerly.
