Enjoying The Holidays...ONE, At A Time!

     I know that I ought not be surprised by this, but, I am...a little; and, even, though, this has been going on for YEARS, it's still a disappointment to me. I went to the store on December 30th, the day BEFORE New Year's Eve, and, Valentine items were, ALREADY, being displayed. Awww, C'mon...REALLY? STOP it! How much would it, truly, matter, to wait til AFTER the New Year, to put out the merchandise, huh? Can we NOT get past one Holiday, before we are inundated with the next? And so it goes...over and over and over...again. I 'get' the whole, wholesale, retail, B.S....I do. However, 'once upon a time', things were NOT like this...they, really, weren't. So...what has happened? Wouldn't the same, money, be spent on all the associated-merchandise, if we gave each, Holiday, a 'fair-shake', and, it's own time to be recognized and celebrated, without having to overlap, one into another? I find this, all to be a 'cryin' shame'; and, to this I say, 'Shame on you, EVERYONE, who follows this, quasi-new, practice!' I don't hold the employees of the stores, and, shops, responsible for this, unfortunate, reality, as they are, simply 'doing their job(s)' by putting out displays. The culprits are the 'greedy-shopkeepers, and, manufacturers, who, are afraid of missing out on a moment, for, potential, gain. BOO HISS! Oh well...what are ya gonna do? It is what it is...and, what it is is, simply, ANOTHER, sign of the times. I know that I sound more and more like my folks did when I was growing-up. I find it, slightly, humorous, on a level, but, a, little, sad, too. Because, it's indicative of the, many, changes that have occurred, over the years, with lots of them, NOT so good. I'm a tiny, bit, concerned, as to what another decade, or two, might bring along in it's wake! Oh well...can't 'fight city Hall', and, all that jazz; But, you don't have to participate in all, this, newfangled, nonsense, if you don't wish to. You sure as hell might not be able to beat 'em, BUT... ya DON'T have to join 'em. Just Sayin'...
