Finding The 'Light' In The Darkness...

Is it MIDNIGHT, yet??? Nope...8:20 PM, and, THAT IS ALL! These LOOOONG nights are challenging for so many of us. By the 9 o'clock-hour, I'm ready to 'hit the hay', when I stay home on pre-Winter-eves, such as tonight. I'm in 'Cold-Weather-Mode', for sure. With frigid-days, ahead, and, sunless hours, upon us, once again, I prepare for my own, version, of hibernation. Heck, this year, I'm 'ahead of the game', as I've ALREADY put on my XTRA 'insulation', an annual occurrence which, as I get older, I have more, difficulty, shedding. What's a girl to do? Oh well...before we know it, it'll be Spring; After all, post Winter Solstice, on December, 21/22, the days will begin, lengthening, by a, mere, minute, per day, and, we'll be enjoying the long, warm, sultry, evenings, offered us in 2014, post- haste. As I sit, pecking away at the keyboard, looking out into the blackness, the view my west-faced window offers, I must admit that I'm feeling, quite, fortunate, content at being 'toasty and warm' on this mid-November, night. Thankful that I have a home, a place to 'hang my hat', and, for ALL the other 'Blessings' my life is filled with. In that we are in the face of our upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday Celebration, I am, more than typically, reflecting on what I have to be grateful for; and, there is PLENTY, believe me! I've always been a thankful-sort, appreciative of my life and what I've been given, even when struggle was imminent or difficulties existed. Even through the most challenging of times, I recognize my 'wealth', and, 'Thank' Him, who deserves my thanks and praise, even though it is He, who brings forth these DARK and LONG nights! Heck, it's a small 'price to pay' for all of the other, great, gifts, God gives us, don't ya think? In the meantime, before the long, sun-filled days return, I'll read more, get to bed, earlier, perhaps,( not a bad thing!) and, engage in activities that help pass the cold, dark, days, happy to have these moments to enjoy. Just Sayin'...
