Girl Scouts Show Off Their Best Costumes
The Halloween and Founders Day celebration at Camp Hoffman on Tuesday gave local girl scouts another reason to get decked out in their best costumes.
West Kingston's Camp Hoffman was packed with goblins, ghouls, and girl scouts Tuesday evening for the annual Halloween and Founder's Day celebration.
In attendance were scouts from 31 active troops from Narragansett and South Kingstown, decked out in their Halloween finest.
The older scouts pitched in to run the various activities the evening had to offer, including putting on a wonderfully orchestrated haunted house and feverishly hanging mini-doughnuts for the eating contest.

Inside, the scouts enjoyed craft tables appropriately themed to the season. Stations were also set up for face painting, temporary tattoos, and even manicures.
For these girls, the celebration was about more than the excitement of Halloween, though. Their festivities were also to celebrate Juliette Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts organization, who was born on Halloween in 1860.
