Idealism is in the eye of the beholder...

'The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.' ~ Thomas Edison...Guess Mr. Edison could not fathom the idea of, nor, the influence of, an entity, such as 'Big Pharma'. Nice thought, though! It would be wonderful to imagine a world, whereby, we were enabled to care for ourselves, holistically, and, 'homeopathically', rather than, being 'lorded' over by the pharmaceutical corporations, whose tentacles reach far and wide within the medical field; influencing physicians, their practices, and, their performance(s). It is a rare thing to find a doctor who prefers to prescribe natural medicine(s), and cures; yet, they are out there...thankfully! We have been sold a 'bill of goods' by the factions of our government who cave to big $$$, and, the 'romancing' by lobbyists, representing the legal- drug, industry. TSK TSK TSK!!! Since when is it OK to advertise medicine, hawking it's benefit(s), or, lack, thereof, in the same way one advertises cars? The type ads we are inundated with are illegal in other parts of the world...BIG surprise, there, huh? This country has a great deal to learn about how it might go about taking care of us; it's citizenry. Yes...we are a young 'un, compared to others, and, by virtue of this fact, still learning. However, as long as the 'almighty dollar' is what precipitates much of the 'how, where, why, and what' which goes on in these United States, we're better off being pro-active for our own sakes and well-being. Think about it! Just Sayin...
