Is Today YOUR 'D'-Day?

Today, marks the 70th anniversary of 'D-Day'... a military-term for a day on which a planned-operation will begin. On June 6, 1944, brave men, some, 156,000, American, British, and Canadian forces, stormed the beaches of Normandy, landing on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of the heavily fortified coast of France’s Normandy region. The invasion was one of the largest, amphibious, military assaults in history and required extensive planning. The Normandy landings have been called the beginning of the end of war in Europe. The 'term', D-Day, has, as well, over the years, been included to mean a moment of decision or commitment in our, personal-lives; not, unlike the commitment one makes to a 'Higher-Power', if and when that 'moment', in one's-life, occurs. Similar, to the courageous-men, whom we honor, today, we are often, 'called to battle' in our, own, lives, and, asked to accept and face the difficulties we encounter. I have discovered, that, as the result of my, personal, decision to promise my 'loyalty' to MY Higher-Power, when facing the 'battlegrounds' presented me, in life, there exists greater, opportunity for a 'successful', outcome, even, if it is not an optimal one; for, having the 'faith' to believe, that, whether or not we understand WHY a thing occurs, in our lives, to allow, that, there IS a 'purpose' for which it has happened, helps in gaining acceptance of it, and, in moving forward from it. Experiencing my, 'D-Day', with respect to 'committing' to a complete and full, assent to the reality of God, and, His, ultimate, 'plan', has assisted me in embracing a much, more, fulfilling and happy life, here, today. So, on this, day, as we honor those, amazing and fearless-men, all, of whom, willing to give of his life so, that, others could be liberated, remember, it is through such, selflessness and dedication, that, we have the freedom to practice, openly, our 'Faith' and Religion, or, lack, thereof, as we see fit. God Bless America! Will today be YOUR 'D'-Day? Just Sayin'...
