It's difficult to imagine, that, with today being the last, full, day of summer, come tomorrow, we will be entering another Autumnal season, once again. Where does the time go? Although, I work, diligently, at living 'one day at a time', I'm, always, amazed, as are most, when I stop to think about the passage of time, and, the swiftness in which it occurs. Typically, unless, there exists some 'landmark' event, which calls 'time' to mind, I am not caught up in thinking about it. Frequently, though, when I do allow myself a thought or two, about the strange, concept, of 'time', I find myself contemplating life, without time constraint(s). Try to imagine an existence, whereby, we were not consumed with clocks, or, calendars. How would that feel, I wonder. For me, it would represent freedom, for sure; a personal freedom, which, I have come to realize, on a level, since my newly, adapted life, post-Fibromyalgia. I must admit, that, it was strange, adjusting to to a daily 'schedule', which, no longer, includes, a work regimen, insofar as a job is concerned. Yet, now, due to this reality, I am 'lord and master' of my day, and, no longer a 'slave' to the clock. One cannot comprehend how refreshing this can be, unless, one has realized this state. Naturally, there are still appointments for me to keep, and, other ways, in which, I continue to delegate time to specific 'slots' throughout any given day. However, overall, I exist free from the shackles of time, and, the 'boundaries, it, often, imposes. In that I have the personal freedom to utilize my 'time' to the fullest, each and every day, it is no longer an enemy, as it often feels to be, when, it seems, we haven't enough, but, instead, a dear, sweet, friend, as I have all that I need. As the great and talented Mick Jagger, once, crooned to the world, 'Time, is on my side...Yes, it is!' Just Sayin'...
