You know the feeling...you walk into a place...a 'familiar' fragrance' fills your nose...and, like traveling 'back in time', you are 'somewhere' from your past, remembering a, specific-event, or, a loved one, now gone from this, life. It's an uncanny experience; Yet, as our olfactory- sense is the greatest of all our senses, this, association to 'people, places, and, things', based on aroma, is very, common to all. Every, once in awhile, I'll be somewhere, usually, within, some, old, building, and, the 'smell' from my Memere's 'shed', a room, off the main-house, which was used as storage-space, hits me' like a brick', and, there I am...6 years old, standing in her kitchen...sitting at her table, enveloped in all the love I felt from her, all those, many, years, ago. Some scents are, simply, unforgettable. Oliver Wendell Holmes was quoted as saying, 'Memories, imagination, old sentiments, and associations are more readily reached through the sense of smell than through any other channel.' So...what if our lives were a fragrance that attracted others to God? Second Corinthians 2:15 says, that, 'we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.' In being followers of Christ, our 'aroma-compound' can, either, attract people, in our lives, or, repel them. It can be a reminder of Him, to others, a sweet-scent of the likeness of Christ...an irresistible 'pull' toward the Savior. 'When we walk with God, we leave behind a sweet fragrance that can inspire others to follow.' ~ Anon What 'fragrance' are you wearing? Just Askin'...
