LOVE Makes The World Go Round...

   If we are fortunate, as children, we have the best care-givers in the world, watching over us...our parents. Needless to say, this isn't true for all young people; but, for those of us, lucky enough to have folks who raised us, loved us, protected us, and did the VERY BEST they could for us, we've been blessed to the Nth degree. It's interesting, how, as we all grow older, very often, our roles reverse; our parents need us to do the same for them, as they did for us, once upon a time. This can be, quite, challenging; yet, it is the right thing to do, if one is able. It is my belief that we're all in this life to assist one another, whenever and however we can; and, this, among family, first and foremost. I have friends who have cared for, or, are in the process of 'nursing' their parents...NOT an easy thing, for sure. I did my part with my own step-dad, some years back, when he was home with hospice care. I must say, that, it was quite, rewarding, to be able to help, as I did. Truly, one doesn't, really, know what he/she may be capable of doing, til a situation presents itself; for, I never knew that I'd be capable of assisting in the capacity that I did. The thing is, though, I AM a parent, too. I know how to love, nurture, and, how to 'be there' for someone I love. One day, if I'm in need of some 'TLC', after I've become aged or infirm, I sure hope there are loved ones in my life who'll be there for me. I'll bet there will be. I'VE raised my sons, after all; and, what goes around...comes around, right? We'll see how things 'play out'. In the meantime, to all of you who, either, have taken care of elderly-parents, in the past, or, are in the throes of doing such now...God BLESS you! In my opinion, your parents raised you right! Just Sayin'...
