Once upon a time, I was the type of person, who, rather than being, completely, in control of my, own, behavior(s), would allow the external-events, other people, and outside, stimuli, that I encountered, to rule my emotions. What I didn't understand, at the time, and, have, since, had to learn, is that NOBODY else has ANY control in how we react, reply, or, respond, to any agent, action, or condition that elicits or accelerates a psychological reflex. It is we, and, ONLY ourselves, who are in charge of how we manage our emotional-selves, and, how we choose to allow outside influences to impact on us. Understanding that we are in complete, control, of how we handle our reaction(s) to the 'stimuli', in our lives, and, implementing this restraint, rather than 'flying off the handle', or 'knee-jerk' reacting to things, is very, empowering, and, freeing. Employing self-control, constraint, and restraint, rather than losing one's self in emotional-outburst(s), which, frequently leave one feeling 'out of control', leaves one with a sense of satisfaction that sates the soul. It has been a process, getting to the place of peace that I have attained. I, no longer, allow the 'thoughts, words, or, deeds', of others to impact on me, to any great degree; as, I know that what others have to say about me, is NOT about ME, but, about THEM. I am hoping to, one day, attain an even, greater, ability, to rely, solely, on my sense of self, self-assuredness, and, self-love, to dictate, and, 'rule my senses'. So far...so good! And...things can only get BETTER! Just Sayin'...
