• Community set to honor local soldier missing since 1944 (independentri.com) — Narragansett and South County residents are preparing to finally lay to rest Franklin "Bud" McKinney, a local airman missing in action since 1944 whose remains were recently identified. He will be buried with full military honors in Wakefield, decades after his wartime reconnaissance plane went down over Thailand.
