Public Comment Sought For South Kingstown Police Accreditation
Members of the public are invited to offer their thoughts to the Rhode Island Police Accreditation Commission on Nov. 14.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — The public is invited to offer comment as part of the South Kingstown Police Department's ongoing accreditation process. On Nov. 14, assessors from the Rhode Island Police Accreditation Commission will visit the police department to determine if it meets their standards.
As part of the visit, the team will accept comments from the public. Members of the community can call the assessors from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at 401-783-3166 extension 323. Comments must relate to whether the department meets the accreditation standards and will be limited to 10 minutes each. Comments can also be addressed directly to the Executive Director of the commission, Christine Crocker at PO Box 7877, Cumberland, RI, by calling 401-500-2075 or via email to crocker.ripac@cox.net.
Copies of the standard are available at the police department. Any questions can be directed to Lt. Patricia Gardner at 401-783- 3166 extension 311.

If approved, the department will be accredited for three years. During that time, South Kingstown police will submit annual reports to prove they are still meeting the standards set forth by the commission.
