'Reflections'...

Its, really, too bad, that, when we look in a mirror, we don't see, reflected back at us, what God sees. NOPE...Instead, as it, typically, turns out, we, tend, to see, what we perceive, to be, as 'flecks', flaws, and, other, imagined-imperfections; with, many of us, NEVER being, honestly-happy, with our appearance. I know woman, who, 'struggle' each and every day, to get their hair in perfect-place, before they, even, consider leaving the house; and, although, I did NOT read the article, I happened to see where Dolly Parton goes to bed, each, night, with a FULLY made-up face. What's THAT all about? Perhaps, she practices the Boy Scout 'motto' of always being prepared, but...for WHAT? I dunno...not judging... seems odd to me, is all. Don't get me wrong, I like looking as best, I can, as well. It is important to take care, that, we care for our bodies, as, they are, in fact, the 'temples' in which we house the 'LIGHT and LOVE', which dwells within; and, to take a certain, level-of-'pride', in our, physical-self, insofar as treating it well, eating-properly, keeping it clean and healthy, is not, 'prideful', but, respectful, as far as I can tell. However, when we become obsessed with our images, often, imagining, that, this, 'external-being' is the ONLY representation of who we are, and, gauging our happiness and contentment, based on how we look, well...this, to me, is, indicative, at a certain, level, of a Life, unrealized. It is NOT our body, which, was EVER intended to be 'perfect'; yet, culturally, we are ALWAYS being held-up to a 'standard' of beauty, which, when one allows, can, indeed, put the pressure on to aspire toward, and, attempt to achieve. Our TRUE-beauty lay within us, this, I believe; but, try telling THAT to the folks who spend mega-bucks, supporting a multi-BILLION- dollar industry, attempting to 'keep their looks', stave-off aging, and, fend-off the inevitability of some, 'well-earned' wrinkles. Rather, wouldn't it be wonderful, when gazing upon ourselves, if, we looked DEEP...into our heart...into our SOUL, and chose to spend, equally, as much time on these, as we do our 'outsides', taking the time to correct some of the 'flaws' found in our-'human-ness'? To some, extent, especially, here, within our culture, 'superficiality' is 'alive and well'; it is a thing 'promoted', more and more, one realizes, when paying close-attention. Most 'gratification' for a multitude of people, is coming from external-sources, and 'values' which, support this. Personally, I feel, that, we've taken a HUGE misstep, and, are heading in a 'wrong'-direction, as a whole; but, HECK, as, always, when 'airing' my views... this is ONLY my opinion! Just Sayin'...
