On some U.S. calendars, January is referred to as 'National Thank-You Month'. I, actually, LOVE the idea of showing gratefulness and thanks, to all who deserve it from me, beginning with my 'Higher-Power'; and, I do such, each and every day. The very, first thing I do, every morn, as my eyes flutter-open, is to turn to the crucifix, hanging over my bed, smile, as I acknowledge the new day I've been given, and, thank Jesus, for this gift. At this point in my lifetime, I am delighted by most everything that surrounds me, with everything from family, friends, relative, good-health, Mother-Nature, and, a POSITIVE attitude, this, which assists me in recognizing the worth of all of these things. I believe that it is imperative to a healthy, balanced-life, to show appreciation for the wonderful things life offers us; but, first, one must be able to discern what these things are; and, sometimes, for some, this isn't easy. Some of the GREATEST-gifts we are given, in life, seem to go, completely, unnoticed and unrecognized by many. Life is fast-paced, and, for this reason, so much of what is here for us to enjoy, goes unnoticed, unappreciated, and, therefore, 'un-thanked'. With today being the first day of our brand-New Year, perhaps, it's a good time to begin keeping thankfulness in mind, on a regular-basis. Naturally, we think to do so, in November, during the Thanksgiving Season, with Christmastime, yet, another time for gratitude, following on it's heels. Yet, for some folk, once we get beyond this, special, time of the year, gratitude seems to go 'right out the window'. So...perhaps, your calendar is marked, with the reminder to be 'thankful' this January, or, maybe not. Whatever the case, make it a point to try, on a daily-basis, to think about, and be mindful of, the things, in your life, that you have to be appreciative of. For, regardless of what the calendar 'says', EACH day is a day for GRATITUDE. Just Sayin'...
