Without our heart, the body's most, vital, organ, pumping our, life-blood, through our veins, working hard, yet, mostly, without out notice, unless, of course, it becomes, 'sick', pumping and 'ticking' away, on the average of 70-75 beats per minute, throughout the days of our lives, we would perish. Though a small thing, at, approximately, 11 ounces, it has a HUGE job to accomplish. A healthy-heart pumps 2,000 gallons of blood through 60,000 miles of blood-vessels, each and every day...imagine that! Per day, the, average, healthy-heart creates enough energy to drive a truck 20 miles. In an average lifetime, this is equivalent to driving to the moon...and back...WOW! Conversely, if our heart malfunctions, our, entire body will 'shut-down'. I believe, that, the same can be said of our 'Spiritual'-Heart. When it is healthy and flourishing, we feel better, more, emotionally, 'stable'. In Scripture, the word, 'heart', represents the center of emotions, thinking, and, reasoning. It is the 'command center' of our life. When we 'follow our heart' in the, most, spiritual of ways, and, are diligent, in our quest, to behave in ways, a la, Christ, in the manner of true, Christians, we will know Spiritual-Health and Well-Being. To the contrary, when we allow life, by it's demands and disappointments, to veer us off the course of Christianity, our Spiritual 'Heart-Center', over time, will show signs of sickness. Although, a thing, perhaps, not noticed, immediately, the neglect of the spirit, as time passes, may, in fact, cause a 'spiritual' heart attack; this, in fact, translating to spiritual, emotional, and, even, physical, 'dis-ease'. Heart-health, of both the physical and spiritual-heart, is essential to the most, optimal of overall, level of function we can attain, without it, our lives will suffer or end, physically or spiritually. So...take care to give each, exactly what it requires to keep on beatin' strong! Just Sayin'...
